@TOURRADAR by Rise • WHAT A FUN EVENT! But first - @TOURRADAR by Rise • WHAT A FUN EVENT! But first - when I got a DM from @raffamurgia inviting me to @cafecaprice, my very first question was - “What day of the week!?”

We all know Sunday nights at Caprice are a wild institution, but also NAT my scene. I’m more of an early Saturday lunch time/midday week dinner with the gals Caprice patron. So when he said Thursday, I sighed a sigh of relief!

He was also kind enough to extend the invitation to friends so I roped in @th_realmc & @lee_chanel__ , who both work and support the travel industry in #CapeTown.

Arriving with a parking one block away (aaah, week day bliss!), with the sun setting and chilled house tunes, it was good to be walking towards a granadilla lolli.

HOWEVER! TourRadar has their own menu and, my God, were they TOO good! Caprice - what the hell did you put on those cocktails?! ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!!!

Paired with a few finger foods, their usual efficient service, laughs and educational chats about life in Cape Town, digital nomads, the housing crisis, race and food, we nearly covered it all. AND WHAT A JOY IT WAS!

Having blogged for over 12 years on Boring Cape Town Chick (before WLICT), I can truly say I have missed meeting strangers from around the world and unknown neighbours from my own home town.

I’ve registered for TourRadar as well and live the concept of a multi day trip, having just come back from a similar trip myself! I’ll do a blog post with more information soon, I’ll share that on my stories in due course.

Autumn has arrived and brining with it, wonderful Autumn has arrived and brining with it, wonderful Autumn specials. My mom and I did the @tintswalo_atlantic offer a few years back and would highly recommend it. Unforgettable gals’ night or break away with the partner? Either way, it’s one of Cape Town’s best hotels. #CapeTownHotel #CapeTownOffer

Not in the mood to cook? We often aren’t on a Monday either 😂 Here are our favourite spots!

🔸 patinasteak_in_newlands - a favourite of mine because I can have risotto instead of fries. I love all potatoes, but this is a nice change.
🔸 @pizzashedrooftop - we discovered this last public holiday. Selected pizzas for R100 (we visited the St James store, but prefer Bree or Obs).
🔸 @mykonos_cavendish - we’ve been sleeping in this one and now we go every month! I love the chicken, AJ loves the open gyro. Delish!
🔸 @barristersrestaurant - an oldie but a goodie! Their onion rings are also some is the best in town (not Spur style). Snuggle in the back back with the fire, sit in the centre for bigger tables or hang in the front pub for banter.
🔸 @clarkescapetown - their famous Tuesday night burgers have moved to Monday and no longer include the chicken, but the beef is still hands down one is the best in town.

Do you have any favourites we need to try? 🍴
I had the privilege of joining @iltm_events last ( I had the privilege of joining @iltm_events last (last) week for @africatravelweek. As a media partner, I was able to meet and learn about many luxury businesses in the travel industry.
Having worked on @official_mikimoto for the past 4 years, it was wonderful to reconnect with the luxury industry and gain insights on how Africa positions themselves to the world.

Lunch was hosted by @lovecapetown at @buitenverwachtingwinetasting (their Sauvignon Blanc Constantia is sublime!), with a warm welcome speech by @steadfast.africa and lunch by @fynrestaurantcpt , it was an occasion not soon forgotten.

Post lunch, we returned to the @norvalfoundation for an afternoon of further connection. Not before indulging in one (read two) pastel de nata from FYN 🤤

Thank you for having me. 💐
📌 JOHN MEYER “Migrations” at @lourensford ▪️I enj 📌 JOHN MEYER “Migrations” at @lourensford
▪️I enjoyed stumbling upon this collection over Valentine’s Day weekend at the notable wine estate.
▪️A commissioned series by Dr Christo Wiese (owner of #Lorensford), Meyer is known for his realism and storytelling scenes that, “balance technical precision and emotional depth”.
▪️This collection focuses on migrations illustrated through South African narratives but which also address the migrations in ourselves.
▪️I particularly appreciated the work on the steam train as painting metals can be very tricky. (Zoom in on the panels.)
▪️My two favourite pieces were the night sky over the baobab tree and the plane flying into the light above elephants. I love art depicting rainy days with sunsets or light and this was beautifully captured.
▪️Meyer is a South African artist who studied in #Joburg and focuses on landscapes, portraits and narrative scenes executed through meticulous research.
▪️The series includes 15 pieces painted over 4 years from 2015 to 2019.
The days are flying by (I guess that’s what happen The days are flying by (I guess that’s what happens when you’re having fun!) and fun I am having. It was my pleasure to attend @iltm_events media day, courtesy of @lovecapetown & hosted by @jeeptours.capetown. We spent the afternoon engaging with media partners and service providers around #CapeTown before joining the conference on Friday.
